What it may mean
Scar tissue, altered blood supply and distorted anatomy make redo reconstruction genuinely harder than a first attempt. Repeating the original operation without changing the approach tends to produce the same result.
Planning starts with understanding exactly what was done before. Operative notes from the previous surgery are the single most useful thing you can bring, and are worth requesting from the hospital where it was performed.

- A reconstruction plan discussed with you before anything is booked
